This story has continued for decades. The instruments are still crafted today with the same passion, the same dedication, and the same unique expertise. Over the years, the shape of Cavagnolo instruments has evolved toward beautifully rounded curves\u2014and this is no coincidence.<\/b><\/p>\n

First and foremost, it was important to create a distinctive design that would immediately identify the brand, much like the styling of the world\u2019s most prestigious automobile manufacturers. The challenge was to develop a perfectly balanced instrument with an ideal ergonomic shape, allowing musicians to feel comfortable from the very first moment they play.<\/p>\n

The mechanism also had to be exceptionally precise in order to provide outstanding airtightness and bellows compression, directly influencing the power, projection, and depth of the sound. This is why every curve of a Cavagnolo has a purpose.<\/p>\n

Take a look at the \u201cears\u201d<\/b><\/span> located at each end of the right-hand keyboard. They ensure perfect support and positioning of the accordion against the inside of the player\u2019s right thigh. This prevents any risk of unintentionally triggering the highest notes while pushing the bellows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now look at the rounded shape of the left-hand side. It was never comfortable to feel a sharp edge pressing against the forearm when repeatedly working the bellows. This carefully designed contour provides exceptional comfort, allowing musicians to play for long periods without discomfort.<\/p>\n

In 1965, the Majorvox<\/b><\/span> was introduced, followed two years later by the <\/span>Majorvox TS<\/b><\/span>. The Digit Series<\/b><\/span> made its debut in the world of digital accordions, introducing a revolutionary concept that dramatically challenged the conventions of traditional MIDI systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its objectives were clear: greater processing power, dedicated memory capable of handling an extensive sound library, and a flawless aesthetic that preserved the purity of the accordion\u2019s grille by eliminating any visible additions.<\/p>\n

A new optical contact system was also introduced, eliminating the risk of faulty contacts while remaining unaffected by dust. Drawing on our expertise in acoustic accordions, every Digit model was equipped with a genuine right-hand and left-hand mechanical action, providing the touch and playing sensations of a traditional acoustic accordion.<\/p>\n

The Digit Millennium was a significantly enhanced version of the Digit Pro Orchestra, featuring a much larger onboard sound library and advanced multilayer sound technology for even greater realism and expression.<\/p>\n

New innovative features included the ability to display sheet music or images on an external screen when changing registers, as well as the creation of the Mapping<\/b><\/span> function, allowing virtually any accordion key to be assigned a custom command or function.<\/span><\/p>\n

2016: The Arrival of the Touchscreen Tablet Application<\/h2>\n

In 2016, we developed a Windows application called Digi Tablet<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This software was designed as a streamlined version of the PC Editor, allowing musicians to program and control the Digit Millennium<\/b><\/span> wirelessly through a Bluetooth-connected tablet.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a first in the history of music technology. At that time, the Digit Millennium became the first musical instrument to be controlled through a Bluetooth tablet, offering simplified, completely wireless operation.<\/p>\n

What we did not yet realize was just how successful tablet-based control would become. Beyond the practical benefits, it dramatically improved the user experience and overall ergonomics.<\/p>\n

For the first time, musicians could easily access and exploit the full power of a digital accordion without having to navigate complex technical jargon or countless confusing menus. The technology became more intuitive, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone\u2014from enthusiasts to professional performers.<\/p>\n

The Essential MIDI Kit<\/b><\/span> is a standard MIDI system designed for acoustic accordions and is available exclusively on selected Cavagnolo models, specifically the 96-bass and 120-bass versions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The system is based on Hall-effect magnetic sensors<\/b><\/span>, ensuring reliable and precise note detection. We also developed the option of integrating a <\/span>wireless MIDI transmission system<\/b><\/span>, giving musicians complete freedom of movement on stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Digit Air<\/b><\/span> marked the arrival of a new generation of digital accordions, succeeding the previous Digit series. Built on an entirely new electronic platform and equipped with an XXL sound memory, it represented a major step forward in performance and versatility.<\/span><\/p>\n

Driven by our constant desire to innovate\u2014and by the valuable feedback of our customers\u2014we developed a significantly enhanced version of our flagship instrument, while placing a strong emphasis on improved ergonomics and ease of use.<\/p>\n

The benefits of the USB Host Interface go far beyond a simple additional connection. It is particularly valuable for musicians who use digital pianos, synthesizers, and entry-level keyboards.<\/p>\n

In recent years, many keyboard manufacturers have removed traditional MIDI ports from certain models, relying exclusively on USB connectivity. While these instruments can easily communicate with a computer through Windows or macOS drivers, they are generally unable to connect directly to arranger workstations or other standalone musical devices.<\/p>\n

Until now, this limitation prevented many musicians from using such keyboards with an arranger.<\/p>\n
